About Legend Oaks
Legend Oaks is a community with a Chapel Hill address but located in Chatham County, appealing to many because of lower taxes than other parts of Chapel Hill located within Orange County. First developed by Orleans Homebuilders in 2005, the final phase called The Estates at Legend Oaks is almost completed, built by D.R. Horton. The neighborhood consists of 62 single family residences varying in size from 2300 to 5600 square feet. Lot sizes are between 1 and 3 acres and homes are priced from the high $300,000s to the mid $600,000s.
While Legend Oaks is not an amenity-rich development, its location just off of Highway 15-501 gives residents quick access to recreational offerings in Pittsboro and Chapel Hill. Driving time from Legend Oaks to UNC and downtown Chapel Hill is 15 minutes, to downtown Durham is 35 minutes, to Duke University is 28 minutes, to Research Triangle Park is 30 minutes, and, to the Raleigh/Durham International Airport is 35 minutes.
Children living in Legend Oaks are eligible to attend North Chatham Elementary School, Margaret B. Pollard Middle School, and Northwood High School. Nearby retail and restaurants can be found at Chatham Crossing Shopping Center, North Chatham Village, and Veranda.
